Johanna + Erik - Los Angeles Wedding

It was a beautiful Spring Day. A little windy, but nevertheless a perfect day for a wedding. Especially if the ceremony was held at sacred Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels - a monumental structure located between the Civic Center and the Cultural Center of Downtown Los Angeles...and the reception at the impressive Japanese rooftop garden of Kyoto Grand Hotel.

The bride Johanna, and groom, Erik, were married civilly two years ago. The dream of being wed in front of family and friends was a bit delayed but never dismissed. The dream became reality for the couple on Saturday, May 28.

I was fortunate enough to be a vendor at their nuptial, as well as a guest. Here are some of the pictures I took of Paper-Charmed's creations at their wedding.

The seat names were printed in the same metallic paper as the wedding invitations
and using the same font type.

The bride specifically wanted fans to let her guests know about the particulars
of the wedding - wedding party, program of events, and thank you's.
So here is what Paper-Charmed came up with.

It felt good to see guests admiring my work. Their praises made my evening.

Congratulations, Johanna & Erik!

Craft Fair :: Done by Digits Love

Last Sunday, May 15, I had the pleasure of joining my sister-in-law Iella - owner of Done by Digits - at the Patchwork Craft Fair in Long Beach, CA. This was her third time participating at the Patchwork Show as a vendor. She makes the most adorable crocheted animals, dolls, critters, hair clips, and scarves. Her love for Amigurumi - the Japanese art of crocheting small stuffed creatures - really shows in her products. Her toys are different in their own way - each one has it's own unique personality.

Iella is the reason I have a blog. She was the one who introduced me to blogging and encouraged me to show the world my invitations and paper creations.

Anyway, I was particularly excited about this fair because I designed the Done by Digits booth. For the signage, I wanted colors that would stand out and not blend in with the colorful dolls. So I picked a black-yellow-white color scheme.

You may remember my blog post on how to make these paper roses. Here's the link again for the blog post where you can find the tutorial. A few people at the fair asked how I made them. They are really fun and easy to make. So try it and let me know.

Here are a few Done by Digits' cuties. Visit Iella's Etsy shop for more selection. Drop her a line about that particular critter you've been thinking about.  She can custom-make it for you. You can also visit her blogs here and here. Better yet, be a Done by Digits fan on Facebook. Make sure to let her know I sent 'ya.

Just a few snaps of the seller and her helpers. This is me goofing around with the mustache cookie bought from one of the booths.

The fair had some really amazing talent. So many wonderful and creative minds out there. I'm so in awe of these people. Above are a few of the booths that really caught my eye. I had a fun time window-shopping the various one-of-a-kind creations at the booths. I was even able to meet a fellow blogger, Danni of Hello, Friend, and a gifted mom, Feanna of Kait Emerson Designs. Can't wait 'til the next fair!
